Thu, Jun. 26th, 2008, 11:54 pm Skateboard!
Been back from MoCCA for awhile now. It was a great show regardless of some obvious set back (deadly heat wave!) Thanks to everyone who came out. I put together this image for a skateboard and a had single deck made. I'm pretty stoked on how it turned out, even though the colors are a little faded. I've always wanted to have my art on a skateboard, so here we go! Now, my question is... do people buy skateboards? Is it worth making more of these? Wed, Jun. 4th, 2008, 06:20 pm MoCCA
One Percent Press is gonna be at the MoCCA Arts Festival this weekend. We are up in the skylight ballroom at table S54. We are right next to the Sundays group who will have the new Sundays anthology with them. We'll have lots of new comics too, including Simple Routines #8 and 9. Come check it out if you are in the area. If you can't make it, the website will have a huge update with tons of new stuff on it after the show. We just did a little redesign, so check it out now if you like. Sorry for the lack of posts, much more to come after New York. Sat, May. 3rd, 2008, 09:16 am Done!
Just finished the second draft of my now 168 page comic. Whew! Now... time for SLEEP! Wed, Apr. 30th, 2008, 04:20 am under pressure!
Working hard to finish my thesis stuff!
Just wrote a 'flashback' featuring this song:
Wed, Apr. 23rd, 2008, 02:34 am Ever feel like this?
Not that this has ANYTHING to do with that comic, but I just finished Simple Routines #8 and 9. In fact, I'm pretty happy about it. Only production stuff left now. I think it says a lot that the first thing I do after finishing two issues of journal comics is turn around and draw another comic with me in every panel. Something different soon though! I got back to Vermont about a week ago from a very lovely vacation. Got to see my best bud Brandon and hang out with his new baby, Eden in Atlanta. Here's what we spent most of our time doing: After Atlanta I got to visit Jacie in Minneapolis. It was wonderful, but short. Less than two months before I can spend all my time doing the above with her. Sorry Brandon. A side note. Drawing bare feet = dumb. Sun, Mar. 9th, 2008, 09:54 pm Get My Sound and Joe Lambert
We just sent out our 7th record release to be pressed. I was fortunate enough to be able to do the artwork for it. Here's what I cam up with: Now lets talk about Joe Lambert ( greysoup ). I met this guy when I first started at CCS. Joe has a tendency to instantly blow people away with his amazing art and I am definitely one of those people. Over the course of the last year and a half I feel like Joe has rubbed off on me more than any other artist. He's helped me get better and influenced my art in more ways than I can count. All I can say is that I hope I've done the same for him, even a fraction as much as he has for me. I came up with this album art wicked quick (we were working on a TIGHT deadline) and after looking at it a few days later I realized how much JOE is in this design. Here's a drawing he did of me (straight in ink!!! crazy, huh?). I don't think he realizes that this is actually what I think about 80% of the time I'm awake. Sun, Mar. 9th, 2008, 12:59 am ???
I think there is only one person who will actually understand what this is... but feel free to guess... or make something up. Sun, Mar. 2nd, 2008, 11:59 pm NoodLoLes
like most other young artists, ramen is pretty much a staple of my diet. a couple of nights ago something made me laugh while i was eating and i couldn't stop. so... i guess that sort of explains this drawing? Thu, Feb. 14th, 2008, 05:32 pm Hope everyone has a good one...
Regardless of how you feel about this "holiday" Wed, Feb. 6th, 2008, 12:18 am

Fri, Nov. 2nd, 2007, 05:09 pm Skating (for real this time)
beeblism and I have gone skating at the park over in west lebanon a couple times now. today was nice. wasn't as cold and i think we are both starting to get better. been working hard. lots of stuff happening, so more to come soon! Mon, Oct. 29th, 2007, 01:00 am Good 'Ol Charlie Brown
Seems like everyone, at least around here (at cartoon school) is talking about the Schulz biography. It's been a really really long time since I've actually sat down and read peanuts, but I do think about Charlie Brown every so often. He (and every Peanuts character really) is just so easy to relate to I guess. Anyway, I'd be really interested to see how other people drew themselves at Peanuts characters. In other news, the One Percent page has been updated with a ton of new comics to buy. Check it out if you are into mini comics at all. Mon, Oct. 22nd, 2007, 02:44 am just cause...
... it feels like i haven't posted enough recently Tue, Oct. 16th, 2007, 02:43 am Small Press Expooooo
SPX was totally sweet this year! Thanks so much to everyone who supported One Percent! Special thanks goes to Stephen, Joe, James, and Alexis for being the best possible people to share a table with. I couldn't have a better group of friends with me. Unfortunately my camera is on the fritz so I can't post pictures of my haul, but let me say I brought home SO MUCH good stuff. An insane amount really. So there are probably only 5 people who know what any of this actually means, but whatever. It's a fun drawing. Also, beards! There are a few of you that might be in this, so check it out if you have a beard. I wish I could give a better report, but it would just end up being boring I think. I had a lot of fun seeing all my old friends and making so many new ones. So thanks again for that! It was an awesome time because of all of you. All the new stuff will be up on the site in the next couple of days. and Jacie comes for a visit tomorrow! |
